Redcliff Family Dental Centre is committed to building long-term relationships between our staff, patients, and the community of Redcliff and area. We strive to provide consumer-friendly dental services the whole family can value and afford in a happy, safe environment.

We love our technology at Redcliff Family Dental Centre. We are happy to offer our patients same day crowns, digital x-rays and digital impressions that eliminates the need for dental impressions. 

Dr. Matt Solven

Making the dental experience more comfortable for anxious patients is something that Dr. Matt Solven finds extremely rewarding. His passion is the increasing technology in dentistry, such as CEREC same day crowns and restorations. He has worked at Redcliff Family Dental for over 10 years, and has proved his dedication to the practice and the community by purchasing the clinic in 2014.

Dr. Solven graduated in 2003 from the University of New Brunswick, in Fredericton, with a degree in Biology and Chemistry. In 2007, he graduated with his Degree in Dental Surgery from Dalhousie University in Halifax. Dr. Solven specializes in root canals, cosmetic dentistry, dental surgery and working with children.

Having always lived in the Maritimes, Dr. Solven moved over ten years ago to Medicine Hat and now calls it home. He loves the weather and the availability of family-centred activities that he enjoys with his wife, Dr. Leanne Doughty, and three young children. Dr. Solven appreciates that Redcliff is close to a large city but has a small town feel. He is a member of the Medicine Hat Kinsmen Society, enjoys swimming, cooking and photography. What was meant to be a short-term move has turned into a life-time commitment for Dr. Solven.

Dr. Leanne Doughty

Dr. Leanne Doughty brings compassion and a commitment to quality dental care to Redcliff Family Dental for over 10 years. She graduated in 2003 from the University of New England in Portland, Maine, with a degree in Dental Hygiene, and earned her Degree of Dental Surgery in 2007 from Dalhousie University in Halifax. While studying, she worked summers and nights as a Dental Assistant and Dental Hygienist to quickly gain experience.

Dr. Doughty has had many years of experience in the dental field. She particularly enjoys and has a great eye for esthetic dentistry through treatments like: Invisalign (invisable braces), traditional braces, crowns, bridges, and dental bonding. Dr. Doughty has a strong passion of working with children and helping them overcome their fears of the dentist. Dr. Doughty is certified in administering Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) and oral sedation for those anxious patients.

In her spare time, Dr. Doughty enjoys running, playing Alto Saxophone in the Medicine Hat Concert Band, reading, skiing, traveling, and cooking. Family – husband Dr. Matt Solven and their three young children are a high priority, and the Medicine Hat area has proven to be a perfect place to raise a family.

Dr. Abdel Bendary

Dr. Bendary loves working with children and putting a smile on his patients’ faces. He’s a graduate of the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry, where he received his DDS in 2018. He continues his dental education through attending continuing ed programs to keep his skills current.

Dr. Bendary joined Redcliff Family Dental Centre shortly after graduation. He was attracted to Medicine Hat because he wants to raise his family in a quiet and peaceful city, and he loves the local scenery and sunny weather.

Outside the office Dr. Bendary enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He loves to visit Kin Coulee, and he also likes to go to the gym and hike.

Dr. Ahmed Heider

Dr. A. Heider received his first dental degree in 1994 from Cairo University Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine. He was then appointed to the Department of Orthodontics where he
completed a 3-year specialty training in addition to a Master’s and Doctor’s Degrees in Orthodontics. He worked as an Associate Professor of Orthodontics, Cairo University until 2015. Dr. Heider has a special interest in research and has publications in various orthodontic journals. In 2018, he received his second dental degree, Doctor of Dental Surgery, from the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry. Dr. Heider is a registered general dentist in Alberta and works hard to keep his skills current through continuing education programs and self-directed study.
Outside of the office, Dr. Heider enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. They love hiking, fishing and swimming.

Kari, RDH

Kari is originally from Moose Jaw, Sask. She graduated with a degree in Dental Hygiene from SIAST Wascana in 2004. She loves working with children and anxious clients. She is certified in Nitrous Oxide administration.

Kari enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children. They are an extremely active family and travel regularly to the mountains for downhill biking and snowboarding. They also enjoy zip lining, river rafting, and basically anything to do with the outdoors.

Leisa, RDH

Leisa grew up in a small town of Saskatchewan, but has lived in Medicine Hat for many years now. In 2004, Leisa graduated with honours from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba with her Diploma in Dental Hygiene. Leisa also holds certificates in Clinical Restorative Techniques, Local Anaesthesia and Orthodontics for Dental Hygienists from U of M. Leisa feels a great desire to work with anxious patients and is dedicated to helping them erase their fears by building trust and providing them with gentle care. Leisa is extremely family orientated and enjoys spending time with her husband, two active children and their two dogs. She is an active member of the community and enjoys being involved in school council, dental study clubs, and her children’s various sports/activities. In her spare time, Leisa enjoys working in her garden, doing freelance graphic design and crafting.

Samantha, RDH

Samantha grew up in both Calgary and Medicine Hat. She graduated from Medix College in Kitchener, Ontario in 2011 with her degree in Dental Hygiene. After graduation, she returned to Alberta and started her career at a dental office in Brooks, AB.

Samantha is very active and loves to be outdoors. She enjoys walking her two adopted dogs in the park, spending her summer vacations on houseboats, and wintertime skiing. She also enjoys spending time with her her family. Samantha has two adorable children that keep her busy. 

A big kid at heart, Samantha has quite the large collection of minions. If you don’t know what a minion is, ask her and she will be happy to tell you.

Olivia, RDH

Olivia joined our office in 2017 after working for many years at River Dental in Medicine Hat. Born and raised in Medicine Hat, it’s been a dream to be working in her hometown providing patients with exceptional Dental Hygiene care. Olivia attended Medicine Hat College for 2 years and then Camosun College (Victoria, BC) for 2 years. Olivia is a friendly, outgoing people person whose greatest goal is changing the minds of those fearful of the dentist, and making a difference in their lives, one tooth at a time! She especially enjoys working with patients that have severe Periodontal Disease. She is highly educated in laser therapy and certified to give Local Anesthetic.

Outside of work, Olivia is a busy mom who is actively keeping up with her children’s sports and activities- football, baseball, badminton, basketball, softball and art classes. She enjoys being with her family and going camping and snowboarding. Her other passions include: furniture restoration, interior design, carpentry, sewing, running, playing soccer, her two doodles and exercise.

Megan, RDH

Megan grew up in Medicine Hat. She graduated with honours from Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene in 2019 and then made her journey back home. Megan has a friendly, gentle and caring approach to her patients and their dental needs. She really enjoys building relationships with all patients, especially children, that inspires trust, cooperation and dental education for years to come.
